About
Yizhen Wang is a Boston-based double bass player and educator who discovered her passion for the instrument at age 17. Her dedication and natural talent have fueled an impressive musical journey.
As an orchestral musician, Yizhen has performed with ensembles including the Boston Civic Symphony, Apollo Ensemble, New England Film Orchestra, and Symphony Pro Musica. She currently serves as Principal Double Bass with the Kendall Square Orchestra, earning recognition within Boston’s music community.
Yizhen is also a devoted educator, teaching at Vineyard Artists in Lexington, MA, and previously serving on the faculty of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. She recently founded Reso Studio, reflecting her commitment to nurturing aspiring musicians.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Double Bass Performance from the New England Conservatory, where she studied with Lawrence Wolfe, Assistant Principal Double Bass of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and a Master’s degree from Boston University under Todd Seeber of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
