Demi Fang

Violinist Demi Fang has played in the Boston area since 2017. She earned a Certificate of Musical Performance from Princeton University and studied abroad at the Royal College of Music in London. Fang has toured internationally with National Youth Orchestra of the USA in its first year, including performances at Kennedy Center and the BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall, and with the Princeton University Orchestra. As a violin soloist, she performed with the MIT Symphony Orchestra in 2018 as winner of the concerto competition and was a 2013 National YoungArts Foundation Merit Award winner.

Fang is also an avid chamber musician and has participated in summer festivals such as Bowdoin International Music Festival and Maine Chamber Music Seminar. She previously played viola in the Polaris Quartet, which won gold at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition’s junior division in 2011 and appeared on NPR’s From the Top.

Fang earned a PhD in Building Technology from MIT in 2024 and now serves on the faculty at Northeastern University’s School of Architecture.
