Meghan Leong started her cello studies when she was ten years old and joined her local youth orchestra two years later at age twelve. She made her orchestral solo debut and Carnegie Hall debut at age fifteen. Meghan was awarded a full tuition scholarship to attend the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance. During her time at Vanderbilt, Meghan served as the principal cellist of the Vanderbilt University Orchestra on numerous occasions and in 2019, she was selected as a substitute cellist for the Nashville Symphony. She also founded a piano trio and string quartet at Vanderbilt which won numerous accolades in state and national competitions. Meghan has collaborated and participated in masterclasses with many esteemed musicians such as Lynn Harrell, Joel Krosnick, Colin Carr, Johannes Moser, Zuill Bailey, and Edgar Meyer. She has attended music festivals such as Brevard Music Center and the Meadowmount School of Music.

Meghan performs on a Neuner & Hornsteiner cello generously on loan to her from the Carlsen Cello Foundation. She holds a Master’s degree in Education and is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor at Northeastern University School of Law. Meghan performs regularly with Apollo Ensemble of Boston and the Orchestra Book Club and is passionate about increasing accessibility to classical music, education, and the legal system.
