Matthew Lamb

About
Matthew Lamb is a professional freelance violinist and teacher in the Greater Boston Area. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Lamb earned dual-Bachelor’s degrees in Violin Performance (BM) and Electrical Engineering (B.S.E), studying under the tutelage of David Halen and Simon James. He served as Concertmaster of the Life Sciences Orchestra and performed with the University Symphony Orchestra. Lamb also studied internationally in the Czech Republic and UK, performing for legends including Rodney Friend, Ivan Straus, and Josef Špaček.
Relatively new to the Boston area, Matt has now performed with the Apollo Ensemble for three years, serving both as Principal 2nd Violin and 1st Violin Section member. An avid chamber musician, he also enjoys playing with a variety of orchestras and smaller ensembles, most recently as pit orchestra concertmaster for the Boston Summer Opera’s inaugural production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
Lamb also holds a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering and works as a IC Design Engineer at Analog Devices, a Fortune 500 semiconductor company.
