Jacqueline Georgis

About
Beginning her cello studies at the age of four at the Hartt School of Music Community Division, Jacqueline (Lin) Georgis went on to study at the School of Music at Ithaca College, graduating with a B.M. in cello performance. Lin continued her studies at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris (2013-2015) where she earned the Diplôme Supérieur d’Enseignement. During her years in Paris, she performed with the Orchestra Lamoureux, along with numerous chamber music groups.
Lin completed her Masters and PhD in Ethnomusicology at Yale University (2022). When she wasn’t holed up in the bookstacks of Sterling Library, Lin made it through her PhD years playing chamber music with fellow graduate school friends, a couple of whom are also current members of the Apollo Ensemble of Boston! Thanks to those connections, Lin heard about Apollo after moving to Boston, and has been a member of the ensemble since November 2022.
Lin is currently a Society of Fellows Postdoctoral Scholar at Boston University. Starting fall 2025, Lin will join the faculty at College of the Holy Cross as Assistant Professor of Music.
