About

Mary Davis started her career as a musician after learning piano at age 6, and went on to switch to violin at age 12. A Massachusetts native, she was a member of her high school’s string, symphony, and chamber orchestra, and eventually played in New England Conservatory’s Prep School Junior Repertory, Youth Repertory, and Youth Symphony Orchestra. Along with playing in orchestra at school and NEC, she played in the 2019 and 2020 Southeast Regional Senior District Orchestra. She has toured the US with her high school’s chamber orchestra twice, and in 2019 embarked on a two week tour in Sydney and Perth, Australia. In 2017 at age 14, she played in Boston’s Symphony Hall for the first time after winning a gold medal at the MICCA Concert Festival, and has now had the honor of playing there three times.

Now 22 years old, she is currently studying with former Boston Symphony member Kelly Barr and is an undergraduate student at Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Berklee College of Music studying for her bachelor’s degree in Professional Music. Outside of performing with orchestras at school, Mary has been performing regularly with the Apollo Ensemble of Boston since 2023 and wants to continue her career as orchestral player after earning her degree.
