Violinist, Thomas Collum is building a versatile career in chamber, orchestral, and early music. As an orchestral and chamber musician, he can be seen performing regularly throughout New England with numerous organizations including Emmanuel Music, Aston Magna, The Du Bois Orchestra, Phoenix: Orchestra Reborn, Cape Ann Symphony, Hotchkiss Philharmonic, Red Door Chamber Music, Great Music at 5 series, Trio Coro, Berkshire Lyric, Apollo Ensemble of Boston, and more. He has also been exploring classical and early romantic music on period instruments and has upcoming engagements to perform Beethoven and Haydn String Quartets and a return visit to play Beethoven Symphony No. 5 with Bach Collegium San Diego.

Thomas holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, where he served as Concertmaster of the Cornell Symphony Orchestra, Cornell Chamber Orchestra, and International Mayfest Orchestra. His past teachers have included Ariana Kim (The Knights, Cornell University), Joseph Lin (Juilliard String Quartet), Markus Placci (Boston Conservatory), Marc Rovetti (Philadelphia Orchestra), and Roberta Crawford (Finger Lakes Chamber Ensembles). Thomas often confides in the mentorship of his close friend and teacher, Daniel Stepner (Brandeis University, Lydian String Quartet).
