Wheeler Jarvis

About
Wheeler Jarvis is a cellist and luthier based in Somerville, MA. Originally from Baltimore, MD, he is a graduate of Baltimore School for the Arts and Middlebury College.
Known for his expressive voice as both a soloist and chamber musician, Wheeler has recently performed with the Apollo Ensemble, the Orchestra Book Club, and the Salem Philharmonic Orchestra, where he was featured as a soloist. In past years, he has played with ensembles at home and abroad including the Cherry Hill Chamber Orchestra in Beverly, MA, Esker Festival Orchestra in Ireland, and the INSeries Opera Company in Washington, D.C.
A talented craftsman as well as a musician, Wheeler studies in the internationally acclaimed Violin Making and Repair Program at Boston’s North Bennet Street School. When not playing cello or working on his latest violin, he can often be found biking or hiking in New England’s mountains and forests.
