Peter Chew
About
Peter Chew was a long time violin student of Louise Behrend and later studied viola under Lilian Fuchs and chamber music with Nathan Spivakovsky at the Juilliard School. He has performed with Leonard Bernstein, Anton Coppola, Jonathan McPhee, David Alan Miller and Benjamin Zander and has appeared as a soloist under Jajha Ling at Avery Fischer Hall. He performs throughout the Boston area as a member of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and as the guest principal of the Symphony Pro Musica, DuBois Orchestra, Waltham Symphony, Wellesley Symphony and Lowell House Opera among others. He is a Suzuki violin and viola teacher and a co-founder of the Boston Philharmonic Funk Foundation, a soul, funk and disco orchestra.
