Boris Lu

About
Boris Lu was originally from Long Island, New York, and is currently finishing his Bachelor’s of Music with a minor in Philosophy at Boston University, studying under Edwin Barker. Boris enjoys an active active orchestral career, having played with many local Boston Orchestras, including a position as substitute bassist in the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Principal bass of the Apollo Ensemble of Boston, assistant principal bass of the Brockton Symphony, as well as concertizing with the Lexington Symphony Orchestra and the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra.
Previously, Boris attended Juilliard pre-college, where he studied under Eugene Levinson and Rion Wentworth. Boris has also played in masterclasses for many other notable bassists, including Rex Surany, Joel Quarrington, Ali Yazdanfar, Albert Laszlo, Ira Gold, Todd Seeber and Tom van Dyck. Outside of music, Boris enjoys going on hikes and reading.
