Dylan Cohen
About
Born in Chesapeake, Virginia, as the sole professional musician in his family, 20-year-old Dylan Cohen (he/him) currently attends the Boston Conservatory of Music studying under Paul Laraia, and has previously studied at the New England Conservatory under Mai Motobuchi’s tutelage.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Bay Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Western Branch Highschool Orchestra. He has done masterclasses with Carol Rodland and Masumi Per Rostad.
His recent awards are as follows: Massachusetts Viola Society Viola Competition, 2024, First Place, Bay Youth Symphony Concerto Competition, First place, 2023, Disney World Chamber Music Competition, First place, 2023. Dylan was selected as a top member of the Boston Conservatory to participate in the US Tour of the West-Germany-based Camerata Louis Spohr and perform with them in Jordan Hall. Dylan has participated in the music festivals Brevard Music Festival (2022) and Ascent Chamber Music Festival (2023).
