Violin

Lauren Oeser

About

Lauren has been playing the violin since she was nine years old, and decided she wanted to pursue it professionally in late middle school. Growing up in Colorado, she participated in the Denver Young Artists Orchestra, Evergreen Chamber Orchestra, and the Colorado All State Orchestra festivals every year, doing summer festivals such as Rocky Ridge, Meadowmount, and Ascent Chamber Music Festival alongside these opportunities. She took a gap year in 2020 after graduating high school to focus on practicing and working, then attended the Boston Conservatory at Berklee for my Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance (graduated Summa cum laude, May 2025), studying under Professor Lynn Chang. This fall, she began her Master’s degree in Violin Performance, also at the Boston Conservatory, under Professor Rictor Noren. This past December, she made her Carnegie Hall debut with the Boston Conservatory Orchestra, performing for the United Nation’s 80th General Assembly concert. In addition to pursuing violin, she has also learned viola in the last year and a half (under Professor Noren), and actively performs on both instruments.

Currently, Lauren is a TA for chamber music at BoCo, and also tutors music theory and aural skills at the conservatory. Outside of graduate school, she is actively teaching violin and viola to students in the greater Boston community, as well as regularly performing freelance gigs and performing with ensembles such as the Apollo Ensemble and Horizon Ensemble. Post-grad, she plans to continue teaching, as well as continue to perform in all different kinds of musical settings.
