Dvorak’s Seventh

A sophomore in the Harvard-Berklee Joint Studies Program, Èbùn Oguntola is a composer, conductor, songwriter, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Her works have been performed by the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, BIT20 Ensemble in the Bergen International Festival, Little Orchestra Society, Apollo Ensemble of Boston, Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Cincinnati Youth Choir, and her album This is America: An Anthology 2020 – 2021, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Traditional Classical Chart. She returns to Apollo for the world premiere of her new work, Four (From Iterval). Apollo Ensemble assistant conductor Reuben Stern leads Bruch’s Romanze for viola and orchestra with MA Viola Society Competition winner Dylan Cohen, and the orchestra tackles Dvorak’s powerful seventh symphony.

Our 2024-25 season also includes world premieres by Gala Flagello (Droughts and Downpours for String Orchestra) and the New England Premiere of Sam Wu’s Eagle Huntress. Soloists Keila Wakao and Leland Ko will return for performances of Barber and Dvorak respectively. Some of the greatest works of the standard repertoire including Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, Mozart’s Symphony No. 39, Brahms’ Symphony No. 3, and more fill out what will be our most ambitious season to date.
