First prize winner at the 2023 Boston Concert Artist Society auditions, the 2023 National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Competition, the 2023 Hong Kong Generation Next Arts International Music Competition, the 2023 Concours OSM, the 2021 Hudson Valley Philharmonic String Competition, and so many more, Leland Ko is a Boston native and a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music. After his successful 2024 Apollo Ensemble debut, he returns to perform Dvorak’s monumental Cello Concerto in B minor on a program that also features Schumann’s 4th Symphony.

Our 2024-25 season also includes world premieres by Gala Flagello (Droughts and Downpours for String Orchestra) and Ebun Oguntola and the New England Premiere of Sam Wu’s Eagle Huntress. Violinist Keila Wakao will return to perform Barber’s Violin Concerto, and the winner of the Massachusetts Viola Society Competition will perform Bruch’s Romanze. Some of the greatest works of the standard repertoire including Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, Mozart’s Symphony No. 39, Brahms’ Symphony No. 3, Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7, and more fill out what will be our most ambitious season to date.
